Sixten Nordström, born in Malmö in 1937 is one of the most famous figures in the Nordic region in the classical music field. The main reason is due to leading the Nordic TV program counterpoint between 1985 and 1998.

Sixten studied at the Music Conservatory in Malmö 1950-60 with piano as main instrument, the music teacher's class, he studied as PAYING ELEV 1955-60. He passed matriculation in 1957 at the Latin School in Malmö and music teacher in 1960 at the Academy of Music in Stockholm - he was the first who had never studied there!

He has so far published four books: Så blir det musik; The world's best operas; Great Composers and Great Operetta and Musicals. The books are often used as course literature in music education.

Today Sixten devotes himself to freelance activities as a lecturer, author of music books and compere for various types of concerts. He still teaches at the Malmö Academy of Music in music history and university courses.
