René Bjerregaard Nielsen

Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2003 he received a music teaching diploma specialising in Ensamble management. René received in October the same year the post of conductor at Slesvigske Musikkorps – so far the youngest conductor of any of the Danish armed bands.

Michael Howley

Michael Howley grew up playing euphonium and has held the principal euphonium seat at several top bands including The Fairey Band, YBS and Brighouse and Rastrick Band.

He is greatly in demand as a brass teacher and band trainer and holds a BA in Music, a PGCE in secondary education and is a Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama after gaining a Distinction in his performance examination. 

Michael is currently the Musical Director of the Grange Moor Band and is busy plotting their assault on the upcoming Yorkshire Regional Championships.

Russell Gray

Russell has been a professional soloist for the last 20 years, establishing himself as one of the worlds leading exponents in the art of cornet playing. Russell keeps a busy diary of engagements including Gala performances, Recitals, Master classes, and educational workshops.

Russell's other "passion" is conducting. In the last few years, he has become one of the most successful brass band conductors on the scene, being awarded the coveted title of "4barsrest.com conductor of the year" in 2002.
